What Does It Mean to be an International Student in an Asynchronous Learning Environment
This presentation will discuss student-centred learning in the context of international students in online programs in order to gain an understanding and learn how to better connect to students with diverse cultural and linguistic challenges in an asynchronous teaching and learning environment.
By the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to better understand how to support international students through the possible cultural/societal/self-induced pressures of academic performance expectations from family, having to work while in school, having to balance course loads, while adapting to a western educational environment and managing culturally-related learning differences as well as how to seek help.
